1. We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together – pick a book or series that you were pretty sure you were in love with, but then wanted to break up with.

Robert Langdon series by Dan Brown

When I first read The Da Vinci Code, I could barely put it down and passed it on to everyone I know.  I immediately went back and read Angles and Demons with the same absolute love. The day The Lost Symbols came out I dug into it then realized, wait is this just the plot line of the first two with details changed? Sadly, that was the moment I said goodbye to Langdon’s mystery solving.

Lost Symbol

2. Red – pick a book with a RED cover.

Pledged: The Secret Life of Sororities by Alexandra Robbins

Non-fiction is hardly my go to genre but sometimes a book catches by eye that I want to read. So was the case of Pledged.  Giving an inside look at Sorority Life, Pledged follows a handful of girls in their college experience so in many ways, reads like regular fiction, but also mixes in sections of hard facts.  Robbins’ writing style is sharp an on point. I also enjoy and learn a lot from her books.

3. The Best Day – pick a book that makes you feel nostalgic.

A Kind of Thief by Vivian Alcock

Remember the days of the book fair coming to your school?  It was my very favorite day and around third or fourth grade the book I choose to buy was A Kind of Thief. I honestly think this is the book that truly hooked me on reading. The mystery and story has held up through half a dozen if not more rereading. It is creepy, dramatic, and has great characters.

4. Love Story – pick a book with forbidden love.

Delirium by Lauren Oliver

Forbidden love you say?  How about a world where you are required to undergo a procedure that is meant to rid your life of that pesky thing called love entirely.  Delirium tells the story of  Lena’s time leading up to her procedure in which she happens to meet a boy that steals her heart and opens her eyes.

5. I Knew You Were Trouble – pick a book with a bad character you couldn’t help but love.

Endless Knight by Kresley Cole

Honestly, I love me so book bad boys so this was a hard choice to make.  From Damon in Vampire Diaries to Day in Legend, I’ve got a soft spot for the guys with a tough streak. Endless Knight had the baddest bad of all, Death.  Based on tarot cards, The Empress and Death battle it out yet there’s just something about Death that grabs the readers attention.

Endless Knight

6. Innocent (written b/c of Kanye West!) – pick a book that someone ruined the ending for.

Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin

Seriously everyone gave away everything about this series before I even got a chance to dig in.  Stop already! That being said, I still enjoyed the writing all the way through and intend to keep going on the series. I’ll just cover my ears and hum when people want to talk about it.

Game of Thrones

7. Everything Has Changed – pick a character from a book who goes through extensive character development.

Tris from the Divergent series by Veronica Roth

Tris was born to serve but chooses to fight in the rich world created by Veronica Roth. From her personal beliefs, to her physical and mental strength and even her appearance, Tris makes major changing throughout the series. I absolutely loved her growth and felt like it was one of the very best written books when it comes to character development.

8. You Belong With Me – pick your most anticipated book release.

Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare

In the new series, The Dark Artifices, fans of The Mortal Instruments and the Infernal Devices get to dive back into the Shadowhunter world.  This story will be set in the not so distant future from the ending of TMI.  Don’t judge these books from the movie. The book series has longtime been a favorite and I can’t wait to see some new characters and a new mystery.

Sorry no cover yet.

9. Forever and Always – pick your favorite book couple.

Stephanie and Joe from the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich

Stephanie and Joe might be a match made in hell, or more accurately New Jersey, but man oh man can I not get enough of their stories. They fight, they laugh, they break up, they make up; they just can’t stay apart.

One for the Money

10. Come Back, Be Here – pick the book you would least like to lend out, for fear of missing it too much.

Grace’s Guide by Grace Helbig

This might be a new book to my collection but I can’t get enough of flipping through and reading things that crack me up.  Seriously this book makes me feel like I’ve semi figure out how to be an adult and that it is okay to not have the hang of other things. Absolutely perfect self help book for my generation by one of the funniest girls alive.

Grace's Guide

11. Teardrops On My Guitar – pick a book that made you cry a lot.

Looking for Alaska by John Green

I cried by way though the entire second half of this book. I read the whole thing in one sitting (okay minus food and bathroom breaks) and it just tore my heart apart.  Such a perfect novel.

Looking for Alaska

12. Shake It Off – pick a book that you love so much, you just shake off the haters.

Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard

Yes, my inner teen is in love with this series. I’ve heard people say they are ashamed to admit they have read them since they are on the easy to read, cheesy side but I don’t care.  Bring on A and all the other crazies.
